In response, My Maths Buddy One Book One Learner, a leading project dedicated to training Maths teachers and learners with the skills necessary for effective teaching and successful learning, is stepping up to address this crisis by offering training programs. Introducing My Maths Buddy One Book One Learner Project
The My Maths Buddy One Book One Learner Project is a South African Mathematics Foundation initiative launched with the purpose of empowering Maths teachers with the skills that would make their teaching of Maths effective and their learners successful in the subject. Through this project, both teachers and learners are empowered with effective resources and knowledge provided as part of the My Maths Buddy Schools program.
Our Recent Launch of the BRICKS Campaign!

The campaign is designed in such a way that everyone can participate in it and contribute to the upliftment of Maths education in South Africa. Like the famous Springbok’s motto says: “We are stronger together!”
How does it work?
The project uses the concept of a BRICK. If we all contribute with one or a few bricks, together we will build a wall that is strong enough to withstand any challenges. The Wall represents Strength.
Each BRICK represents a part of the project. By sponsoring a BRICK, you would sponsor either a Maths teacher or a learner in a class. The project works well when we train both teachers and learners. Everybody should be on the same page. Our minimum project would include 10 Maths teachers and a minimum of 40 learners to start creating an impact.
Once we have a minimum number of BRICKS sponsored for a school, we initiate the project. We run the project for 6 months with the school and provide regular reports to you as a donor on the progress of the project and the school’s performance monitoring is part of our reports. At the end of the project, we will provide you with a closing report detailing the project results.

At first, they believed that maths is difficult and some even believed that they were not ‘maths material’. But ever since I’ve been using My Maths Buddy kit, there has been a huge improvement.
