The My Maths Buddy magic found itself back at C.M. Vellem Primary School in Makhanda, proudly supported by SAS, where our team returned for another exciting day of learning, reinforcement and growth. C.M. Vellem Primary School is no stranger to programs that encourage learners to grow. The school has developed a strong culture of community involvement and partnership over the years. In fact, C.M. Vellem Health Promoting Primary School was named Rhodes University’s Community Partner of the Year in 2019.
That spirit of partnership has continued. The school has worked with Rhodes University students and community programs on initiatives ranging from literacy and reading to chess, sport, career development, physical wellness and learner wellbeing. Therefore when 40 eager learners gathered for their second My Maths Buddy intervention, they were continuing a much bigger story, one of a school that keeps creating opportunities for its learners. This wasn’t their first encounter with My Maths Buddy but rather a build up on the foundations already laid.
BEST MY MATHS BUDDY CLUB 2025!
C.M. Vellem Primary School has also won an award as being best performing My Maths Buddy Club for the year 2025! The principal of the school, the HOD Maths and one of the Maths teachers were awarded by the My Maths Buddy program for their dedication to helping their learners to succeed in Maths and putting extra efforts by running extramural activities with their learners throughout the year and helping them to grasp Maths concepts better utilizing the tools and skills learned on the My Maths Buddy program. During our last visit the team of 10 Maths teachers also attended training as part of the ongoing program.
We are truly grateful for our continued partnership with SAS. As we keep strengthening Maths understanding and confidence, we are encouraged by the positive progress already visible in classrooms. Even more exciting is the journey ahead and we look forward to sharing the continued growth and results as this partnership deepens and expands.

| The My Maths Buddy program is minimally a 12-month long program and is designed for Maths teachers and learners. To sponsor 1 teacher for a full year on the program is R12,000.00 (including all materials, training, support, assessments, evaluation and monitoring and reporting). To sponsor 1 learner for a full year on the program R7,500.00 (including all materials, training, support, assessments, evaluation and monitoring and reporting). Sponsor one or more learners or teachers and join us in the crusade to bring greater Maths understanding and success for 160 learners and 41 Maths teachers as part of celebrating 2026 Heritage Month Drive |
| The My Maths Buddy Team successfully hosted an event at Zandspruit Primary School on the 31 July to celebrate the successful completion of our Nelson Mandela Month Drive. The event brought together learners, educators, school leadership and our valued company partners to celebrate the collective effort that made this initiative possible. We now look forward to achieving the same impact at our two remaining nominated schools. With your support, we can make it happen and continue changing lives through Maths education.
